A Must Do for EVERYONE...

I left out Sunday afternoon for a Pastor's Conference in Blowing Rock. I love the mountains. The only thing I enjoy more than the mountains is riding my Harley in the mountains. I spent all day yesterday riding the Blue Ridge Parkway. Can you say, GORGEOUS?

The Word of the Lord says, "The LORD said, "Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the LORD, for the LORD is about to pass by." Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. 12 After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper." (I Kings 19:11 - 12)

There is something about the mountains. God speaks on top of the mountain. I think that is why Jesus would often withdraw to the mountains.

If you can, try and get away to the mountains some time this fall. Because it has been so dry, they say it will be a stunning leaf season.

Oh, and one more thing, before you pass from this world into the next, PLEASE get on a Harley and ride the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is a little slice of heaven! I gotta go - we just finished the morning session of worship and teaching and I have 5 hours to ride! :>)
