Sunday Evening Reflections

I love newhope. This is one of the best churches on the planet! I can’t believe I get to do this with my life. I am so tired from the 3 services but there is no way I can go to sleep now. Here is why I am so stoked this Sunday evening:

1. I saw tons of new people at church this morning. In fact, we have been having record numbers of guests lately and they love newhope and are sticking around!

2. I love that our church shows up ready to worship Jesus in spirit and hear His truth!

3. I can’t believe the racial diversity that continues to grow at our church. Praise God.

4. I am in awe of the socio-economic diversity. Can you believe we have CEO’s and homeless people worshipping side by side?

5. I can’t believe God is growing the kind of church where pastors show up on Sundays interested in possibly becoming a part of the Pastoral Team. Forget staff searches – they are coming to us! :>)

6. Praise God for the other pastors of this church! This is pastoral appreciation month and I hope you guys know how awesome and loved you are within this community. Rock on pastors of newhope.

7. Thanks be to God for moving mightily among our kiddos every Sunday. Caleb came home today showing me the book he made in hopetown about the way in which God made him, loves him, and wants to be his very best friend. Enough to break a dad down.

8. I love the fact that newhopers are so engaged in this series and really want to wrestle and engage the relevant subjects of our day. Your intellect encourages me.

9. I sat in awe as 8 – 10 people put me in the "hot seat" today after the 3rd service just to lay hands on me and pray for God’s anointing, favor, protection and blessings my life, in the life of my family and over my ministry.

10. I am still stoked that God saved me, a wretch, some 19 years ago. I am in awe of His grace and love in my life and I can’t believe He is using us to grow something as beautiful as the newhope.

11. Lastly, I jazzed because the best is yet to come. God is only getting started.
