Oprah's Spirituality - Scary...
I am chillin in Panera and getting ready to go to the church for the Jon Bauer concert!
I just had to throw you this link, though. Please know this - I have never had anything against Oprah but this is freakin scary.
Jesus said, "For those who have ears listen." Check out what many are calling the largest online church on planet earth. You can see some of it here.
I caution you to be a little more skeptical when you listen to the advise of Oprah. And remember to pray for Oprah and all those caught up in this movement.

i stopped watching oprah ages ago. too much of a following for a woman who does not speak the truth. glad to see i am not the only one that feels people need to be more cautious of her "movement". she does great things and is good at what she does (and i would love to go to one of her tapings to get free stuff) but i don't take what she says to heart like so many people do.
Benji, I am so happy you are talking about this! Oprah her ego and her ability to influence people however she chooses, has made me uneasy for sometime.
That is crazy. I didnt realize that this was going on. I never watch her regular show but Ive been obsessed with watching Oprah's Big Give on Sunday nights.
I wish that she would look deeper into things that confuse her before just throwing them out and creating some weird occult thing that fits what makes sense to her.
Question: what did Obama have to do with this anyway?

This is a very old Oprah taping early 90's I believe. I have seen this spread via email years ago.
I try to catch her show 1-3X per week. I have heard her speak on her belief in Christ. She has also had several Christian Pastors on her show when they discuss topics on Spirituality and different religions. And the discussion is much different from this taping. Something must have changed within her life b/c she speaks about her belief in Jesus Christ fairly often in the show.
I haven't read the book that currently has the online global classroom. However, I haven't seen it advertised as a "Church" or "Cult" ... it's a book discussion but on a global level.
It makes me wonder who posted this You Tube video... is it to slander Oprah because she has endorsed Obama? And Oprah has alot of viewers. hmmm...? Is this video playing off of the ignorance others?
Oprah is a human just like everyone else... Her beliefs are her beliefs and should be taken as such. The problem starts when people start living their lives according to society/celebs and not according to God.
I don't view Oprah as someone starting a cult or brainwashing America. She has done so much to reach/help out those less fortunate and I feel it's wrong for someone to slander her on what she has believed or stated in her past.
What if we were all judged by others based on our past views/statements and not how we have grown sprituality now?
Karla, you bring up some good points. I think the on-line church supporting all of this, though, is rapidly growing right now.
You are right, Oprah has done a ton of good. But this spirituality seems scary.
